The IBM® SPSS® is a computer program used for statistical analysis that the University of Montevallo licenses for academic use.
University of Montevallo utilizes IBM SPSS Statistics Premium Bundle Campus Edition for classroom instruction and data gathering/analysis. For the 2021-2022 academic year, SPSS v27 is the installed version.
IBM SPSS Availability
IBM SPSS Premium Campus Edition is available for use on UM academic computers as requested. SPSS Statistics is currently installed on the following VDI labs on campus.

UM Computers
SPSS is available for UM issued computers. If you currently have SPSS installed on an UM issued computer, your license for SPSS should be current. If you receive an expiration notice upon startup of SPSS, please submit a ticket by emailing the Solution Center at solutioncenter@ycdwkj666.com.
IBM SPSS Off-Campus Availability
IBM SPSS Statistics is available for personal computer “At Home” use, to UM Faculty and to UM Students who are currently enrolled.
If you do not have IBM SPSS Statistics currently installed and would like to request it or if you would like to request installation on an academic space computer, please submit a ticket by emailing the Solution Center at solutioncenter@ycdwkj666.com.
SPSS System Requirements
If you are a student or faculty member who is planning to install SPSS software on your personal computer, please be aware of the following minimum system requirements:
Windows
- Microsoft Windows 10 or newer.
- Memory: Minimum 4GB RAM, while 8GB RAM or more is highly recommended.
- Minimum free drive space: 4x the size of your data file size. Example: 8GB free for 2GB SPSS data file.
- Web browser: Edge, IE, Chrome, FireFox.
Mac
- Apple MacOS Catalina (10.15) or newer.
- Memory: Minimum 4GB RAM, while 8GB RAM or more is highly recommended.
- Minimum free drive space: 4x the size of your data file size. Example: 8GB free for 2GB SPSS data file.
- Web browser: Safari, Chrome, FireFox, Edge.
Mobile platforms are not currently supported by IBM SPSS statistics.
